It allows for the detection of interdental cavities, periodontal bone loss, cysts, impacted teeth, and joint alterations not visible in a clinical examination. The radiation emitted is minimal—significantly lower than that of a conventional X-ray.
The 3D intraoral scanner takes thousands of photographs of the inside of the mouth in seconds and generates a three-dimensional digital model of the dentition with a precision of tenths of a millimeter. It eliminates uncomfortable plaster molds and allows for the planning of orthodontic, implant, or prosthetic treatments with accuracy impossible with conventional techniques.
