How Much is a Fixed Prosthesis?

Escrito por: Dra Lucía Asensio

What is a fixed prosthesis?

Fixed prostheses are those that remain attached to the patient’s mouth permanently and cannot be removed. It is not necessary to remove the prosthesis for cleaning, and it has no issues with food debris filtration.

Knowing the price before deciding is fundamental to avoid surprises. In this guide, we explain all the factors that influence the cost.

At Asensio Dental Clinic, we have been placing fixed prostheses in Valencia for over 30 years. Our team specialized in dentistry and stomatology will guide you to find the best solution for your case.

There are two types of fixed dental prostheses:

Fixed prosthesis on teeth

The prosthesis is attached to the patient’s healthy teeth, achieving great support and firmness. The only disadvantage is that the teeth must be prepared and polished to ensure the prosthesis attaches correctly.

Fixed prosthesis on dental implants

In this case, it is attached to one or several titanium implants, which act as the tooth root. The prosthesis is secured onto them.

Fixed prostheses are used to replace missing teeth, providing the patient with a fixed dental piece with which they can chew and speak normally, without any discomfort, thus fulfilling the functions of a natural tooth.

What do fixed prostheses consist of?

At our Asensio Dental Clinic, this treatment consists of a professional from our team placing a custom-made dental piece in the patient’s mouth to replace the missing piece. The placement process will depend on the type of prosthesis:

Fixed prosthesis on teeth

The teeth are shaped and reduced in width and height, forming what is called a “stump,” so that the prosthesis can later be fitted over them and achieve lasting support.

Fixed prosthesis on dental implants

The prosthesis is fixed onto the titanium implant, which acts as the dental root and onto which the crown or bridge will be placed.

How much is a fixed prosthesis? 2026 Prices

Getting a fixed dental prosthesis is a necessary expense when teeth are lost for various reasons. The price depends largely on the patient and the treatment they need, which is why it is difficult to give an exact price without evaluating each case. A fixed prosthesis usually starts from €250, and a fixed set of teeth from €4,500, although this price may vary depending on several factors:

✔ Material the prosthesis is made of
✔ Number of teeth to be replaced: the more teeth, the higher the price
✔ Technology applied in the installation
✔ Need for temporary prostheses during treatment

How much does a fixed set of teeth on 4 implants cost?

If you want to support your fixed set of teeth on implants, you will need to add the price of the implants to that of the prosthesis. The All-on-4 technique is an advanced technique that allows you to support an entire dental arch on 4 implants and leave with the set of teeth in place on the same day. Consult our All-on-4 in Valencia page for all the details of the process, and our dental implant prices in Valencia page to know the exact cost according to your case.

Frequently asked questions about fixed prostheses

How long does a fixed prosthesis last?

A well-cared-for fixed prosthesis can last between 10 and 15 years. Prostheses on implants have greater durability, potentially lasting a lifetime with proper care.

Is it painful to get a fixed prosthesis?

The process is performed under local anesthesia, so it is not painful during the intervention. Afterwards, there may be some discomfort for the first few days, which is easily controlled with analgesics.

What is the difference between fixed and removable prostheses?

The main difference is that a fixed prosthesis cannot be removed; it is cemented or screwed onto the teeth or implants. A removable one can be removed for cleaning, which may be uncomfortable for some patients.

Are fixed prostheses covered by dental insurance?

It depends on the insurance. Some cover part of the cost of fixed prostheses. At Asensio Dental Clinic, we work with major medical insurance companies and help you manage your coverage.
